Access 2003 Introduction to Database Design
Course Information
This two-day course is designed to introduce delegates to the concepts and functionality of a relational database exploring the advantages of electronic data storage.
Attendees will be confident in recognising the uses for a database and the concepts of database design. Delegates will be able to produce forms and reports and utilise the advanced query facilities.
Pre-requisites
Those attending this course should have a basic understanding of the Windows environment and be comfortable with using a mouse.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

- Navigate the database and records within the database
- Perform simple database queries to extract or select records from the database according to specified criteria
- Produce reports from tables and queries
- Build cutomised forms using additional controls such as lists and option buttons to make data entry quicker and more user friendly
- Create graphs and charts from databases
- Create summary tables or crosstabs from numeric data
- Perform more advanced queries using the built in queries within Access
