Access 2003 Advanced
Course Information
This two-day course is designed to explore the opportunites to enhance databases through advanced formatting, customising and automating procedures.
Pre-requisites
Those attending this course should have attended the ‘Introducing Database Design’ course or have equivalent knowledge through their own usage of the product.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Create more advanced forms utilising some of the further features available within Access – utilising relationships, properties and custom controls
- Apply simple customising to set how the database should open and what the user can see and access
- Perform mathematical and logical analysis on data using expressions and calculations
- Apply Access mechanisms to secure the database
- Integrate Access data with the other applications in MS Office
- Create copies of a database enabling several people to work on the same database at the same time and from different locations
- Create more advanced reports from Access data
- Utilise built-in macro actions to automate common tasks
- Create databases with advanced relationships using links, joins, indexes and optimise their performance
- Create hyperlinks to quickly move to different objects in Access or to jump to different applications
