Introducing Project Management
This
two day course is designed to introduce delegates to project management
software.
Delegates
will be able to use Project efficiently and confidently, creating new
projects and entering new tasks to help plan, organise and schedule work.
Those
attending this course should have a basic understanding of the Windows
environment and be comfortable with using a mouse.
By
the end of the course delegates will be able to:

Recognise
the basic project management concepts.

Navigate
the project manager application and controls.

Create
and manage tasks using the entry table.

Set
and manage tasks and relationships using the gantt chart.

Organise
a project into main and sub-tasks using outlining.
-
Format
the gantt chart to improve clarity.

Sort
and filter the task lists.
-
Explore
network diagram view.
-
Utilise
the calendar view to manage the project.
-
Allocate
resources when and where they are most needed.
-
Produce
reports using pre-set designs. Print
the project.

Enter
costs into a project; Identify
the critical path.

Deal
with resource groups, resource drive and fixed duration tasks and
resource over-allocation
-
Explore
the methods by which projects can be compared against the baseline.

Track
a project\'s progress, including success rates and cost targets.
