Designing Professional Web Sites

This two day course is valuable to those involved with presenting information via the intranet or the World Wide Web, including web developers and content developers.  Delegates will gain extensive hands on experience designing and developing professional web content whilst learning how to create, manage and upload web sites created using FrontPage.

Those attending this course should have a basic understanding of the Windows environment and be comfortable with a mouse. Experience of using a major web browser would be beneficial.

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Recognise techniques for successful web design and structure.

  • Create basic web pages using simple formatting and styles.

  • Format page background colours and images.

  • Present information in tables.

  • Insert bookmarks and navigational bars to speed and ease visitor use.

  • Insert images on web pages.

  • Recognise image types and properties.

  • Create and manage links to a page, a bookmark, a web address or e-mail address.

  • Create and manage structured web sites.

  • Test and publish a web site.

  • Design a web site with frames.

  • Create and edit a frameset.

  • Apply frame attributes and targets.

  • Add special effects such as page transitions, animations, banners an marquees to your web page

  • Include search forms and hit counters together with time and date features
