Essential Skills for the Spreadsheet
Novice
This
one day course is designed to introduce delegates to the concepts and
functionality of an electronic spreadsheet.
Delegates
will be able to use Excel efficiently and confidently by creating
spreadsheets encompassing simple financial and mathematical functions.
Those
attending this course should have a basic understanding of the Windows
environment and be comfortable with a mouse.
By
the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Recognise the different elements that
comprise an Excel workbook.
- Create and save Excel workbooks.
- Manipulate worksheets in terms of
naming, moving, adding and deleting.
- Enter data in to a new and existing
worksheet.
- Apply formatting to change the
appearance of text.
- Apply cell borders and shading.
- Change the appearance of numeric data
using shortcut icons and menus.
- Calculate using simple mathematical
operators.
- Calculate using built-in functions.
- Modify page margins, orientation and
scaling.
- Apply headers and footers to the printed
page.
- Print the whole worksheet or specific
areas of the worksheet only.
- Utilise the Office Assistant & Help
features.
